Through a statement, the MEA Ministry of External Affairs of India said, without further explanation, that the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for international cooperation, including the institutional strengthening of the WHO World Health Organization.
“The international economic and social consequences of the pandemic triggered by COVID-19 have demonstrated a need for global cooperation, including the institutional strengthening of the WHO,” he said.

The coronavirus outbreak, which first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan, killed over 22,000 people and infected nearly 600,000 people in nearly 168 countries.
The BWC was the first-ever multilateral treaty banning the growth and development of a whole range of biological and chemical weapons.
